IFSI
accepts student interns from either physical therapy or
physical therapy assistance schools providing they are
from a nationally accredited program. We have a limited
enrollment due to the type of facility we have and the
number of staff members who are eligible to be clinical
instructors. We are willing to contract our facility
with any school providing the time of the internship is
available. IFSI specialty is orthopedics, sports
rehabilitation and athletic performance. Being such a
specialty the students must a good foundation in anatomy
and physiology and therapeutic exercise. We also expect
the student to have the desire to learn, teach and the
willingness to go above and beyond to serve and respect
the patients who value IFSI.
We require our students to treat our
facility like their own, having the passion for the
field of physical therapy, have empathy for the patients
we see to overcome their fears and give quality care so
that optimum outcomes can be achieved. The expectations
from the students are high and
IFSI accepts the same. We are a fun and family
oriented facility that works as a team and would expect
the students to do the same. We have policies and
procedures that need to be complied with as any employee
does.
Your experience will be one that is very
interactive with responsibilities that supersede the
required course work. We feel much knowledge will be
given to you as a student, so we need to be compensated
for your hard work in return. You may be a student
because you’re in school but you are expected to act
like a professional clinician while your are treating
our patients. Like anything in life, what you put into
it, is what you will get out of it. Your mind needs to
be like a parachute; for this will allow you to have the
utmost experience you can get as a student which will
forever be impressionable as a clinician.
